Where to Eat... |
|
Breakfast |
If your going to start your day you better eat right. And nothing says good food other than Pho Quyen which is on the corner of Hillsborough and Memorial. Start with the "make your own rolls" and then have a steaming bowl of pho. Pretty much anything on their menu is awesome. The servers are super friendly, the restaurant is clean. You'll be totally happy there and then when you get your check for $25.00 you'll be even more thrilled. |
Lunch |
Ever heard of Red Mesa? Having lunch here is a feast. Red Mesa offers great food selections and presentation. They will add every now and then but their fish is always the best. Also they offer a great Sangria, order a pitcher! |
Dinner |
One word: Bern's. Steak Tartare Bern's style is to die for. Small is enough for two. The Steaks are great, and so are the sides. Wine list has no comparison and the dessert room is something you will talk about to everyone. Take the tour when offered before they take you upstairs for dessert. |
What to Do... |
|
Morning |
If your are ever in St. Pete I suggest you go to the Saturday Morning Market. They close down the street for one city block in front of Progress Energy and the vendors set up in three rows - one row down the middle of the street and one on either sidewalk. Vendors sell food, produce, plants, framed art, original clothing and accessories, candles, fresh herbs and knick knacks. It's amazing how much cool stuff is there is such a small area. They are not all local merchants, either. We bought scented soy candles from a couple from up north. It runs from the beginning of October to the end of May. |
Afternoon |
Next stop would be Salvador Dali Museum. I know, it's a museum but boy did we get surprised! We didn't really know what to expect, but had a wonderful time at this museum. My advice - go through with one of the guided tours to get perspective and history on Dali's work, and then go back through the museum to look at each piece. The museum is really remarkable. |
Evening |
Last stop of the day and we went to STATE THEATER. They host local, national and worldwide bands. Staff is friendly and keep everyone safe and having a good time. Drink prices are reasonable and the sound is great. Every type of music/band comes through there, separate area for merchandise and convenient bathrooms. I couldn't believe ,they actually have a $2.00 beer specials all night. |
